A whisky tasting subscription but not as you know it! Whisky Pioneer is a new whisky subscription service that sends you a 50ml bottle of whisky, every month and when possible… a 60ml dram! Its delivered straight through your letterbox in recyclable packaging, bottled in a specially produced plastic bottle.
Whisky Pioneer care greatly about the environment and believe that “Whisky shouldn’t cost the earth”
Their carefully designed and crafted bottle is made from 100% recycled plastic and is the outcome of a partnership with Prevented Ocean Plastic (POP).
They launched at the tail end of August and charge £7.95 for a monthly subscription, this includes P&P. It’s dead straight forward, you sign up, pay your £8 at the beginning of each month and get your bottle later that month with the ability to pause or cancel at any time.
What whiskies do they offer?
Whisky Pioneer say that they will be “exploring the entire world of whisky with drams from all four corners of the world” so it sounds as though they will be offering an eclectic mix of drams.
I think they’re good for their word as their first dram is one I’ve not yet explored… It’s Copper Rivet which is from an English distillery. The review of which will follow in the near future.
The magical plastic bottle
Whisky Pioneer have done a great job with these bottles, not only are they made from 100% recycled plastic waste, but they look great too. They have the logo embossed into them and it’s a really nice touch. It doesn’t feel recycled at all.
Get this for recycling incentive; when you’ve drank your drams and saved up 10 empties, you can send them back and claim a free whisky!
